French pressing your morning brew can be a really effective way to get both flavor and extract a good amount of caffeine.

I am stoked to share a little recipe with you!

bwaah - What is a French press?

A French press, also known as a press pot or plunger pot, is a classic and straightforward method of brewing coffee that produces a rich and robust cup. It involves steeping coarsely ground coffee in hot water and then pressing down a mesh plunger to separate the grounds from the brewed coffee.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

- Coarsely ground French Roast(Dark Roast)

- Hot water (just off boiling, around 200°F or 93°C)

- Optional: Cream, milk, sugar, or sweeteners as desired

Instructions:

1. Prepare the French Press:

   - Start by preheating your French press with hot water. This helps maintain the brewing temperature longer.

2. Measure Coffee:

   - Use a ratio of about 1:15 or 1:17 coffee to water. For example, for every 1 gram of coffee, use 15-17 grams of water. Adjust according to your taste preferences.

3. Grind Coffee:

   - Grind coffee beans to a coarse consistency, similar to breadcrumbs. This ensures optimal extraction without allowing too many fines to slip through the plunger filter.

4. Add Coffee and Water:

   - Discard the preheating water from the French press. Add the ground coffee to the bottom of the French press.

   - Pour hot water over the coffee grounds, ensuring all grounds are saturated. Stir gently with a wooden or plastic spoon to ensure even saturation.

5. Brew:

   - Place the plunger on top of the French press but do not press down. Let the coffee steep for 4 minutes. Adjust steeping time based on your taste preferences for strength.

6. Press and Serve:

   - After steeping, slowly press down the plunger. Use steady pressure to avoid agitation, which could cause grounds to escape the filter.

   - Pour the brewed coffee into your favorite mug immediately to prevent over-extraction.

7. Enjoy:

THROW THAT INTO A GLASS WITH SOME ICE - ADD MILK OR YOUR FAVORITE SWEETNER / CREAMER.

Now you’re ready for the summer!

French press coffee is best enjoyed fresh and can be kept warm in a thermal carafe if needed.

Tips:

- Use freshly ground coffee beans for the best flavor.

- Adjust grind size and steeping time to achieve your preferred strength and flavor profile.

- Clean your French press thoroughly after each use to maintain its performance and flavor integrity.

French press brewing offers a full-bodied coffee experience with minimal equipment, making it a favorite among coffee enthusiasts worldwide.
